Hi there, I'm Sharon Chapman and my goal is to provide unique images to the horse racing industry. Images that tell a story, capture the emotion and excitement of horse racing and showcase the beauty of the Thoroughbred.
In 2011 I was fortunate to win the Quill Award for News Photograph of the year with "that" picture of "that horse", Banna Strand when he famously jumped into the crowd at the Warrnambool Carnival.
Some of my clients include John Salanitri Racing Stables, Ciaron Maher Racing, , Magic Millions, Inglis & Son, New Zealand Bloodstock, SAJC, Newgate Farm, Widden Stud, Newhaven Park, and Swettenham Stud. I also regularly provide images to G1x Racing, Gallop Magazine in Sweden, Equestrio in Dubai, Inside Racing, and The Winning Post.
I am also the head photographer for Ladies In Racing Magazine and am their international correspondent having attended race meetings all over the world, including Royal Ascot, the Dubai World Cup, Cheltenham Jumps Festival, Hong Kong Cup, Singapore Cup, the Durban July in South Africa, the NZ Karaka Millions, and the famous Saratoga Carnival in the US.
I also provide tailor made packages to trainers capturing track work, barrier trials, beach work and staff portraits and present these in a slideshow format for editorial use on websites and facebook pages.
I've regularly attended the yearling sales in both Australia and New Zealand and have worked for Swettenham Stud and Eliza Park the past year to capture each and every yearling as they are presented through the sales ring at the Melbourne Inglis Premier Sale. I also provide confirmation and head shots for trainers and owners purchasing yearlings at the sales.
